CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES & COFFEE ON A WARM NIGHT

It’s warm here in Phoenix, Arizona (big news), but it is beautiful nonetheless. We had some friends over for dinner tonight. While sitting around after dinner laughing and talking and enjoying a good cup of coffee, we decided we wanted something simple for desert to top off our meal.  Nobody wanted anything heavy because of the heat so we settled on truffles.

With the advent of the one-cup coffee brewers we were all drinking different flavors of coffee. This made it easy for us to try different flavors of truffle/coffee combinations. We made a game out of it and had a great time. My guest who drank the Espresso had the 80-85% chocolate truffle and thought he had arrived at Nirvana. Another guest who drank the Amaretto coffee enjoyed the Chocolate Nibs truffle and thought she had the best combination while my guest with Cappuccino loved the white chocolate Crème Brulée, and yours truly had the Aphrodesia with an excellent cup of Sumatra. Now of course everyone had to taste everyone else’s combo and we were eating truffles and drinking coffee like crazy. I don’t know if any of us will sleep tonight since I’m sure we are all on a caffeine high, but we sure had a great time. I love it when things turn out completely different and sooooo much better than I planned.

On another note, please remember when you subscribe to our Truffle Thursday drawing on this Blog to confirm the email that you receive so that your name will be entered into the weekly drawing to win a box of two truffles. You need only confirm once.

This sounds like a good time. I too love it when my parties turn into something more fun than I planned. Sometimes my guests surprise me. Love the idea. I think I will try this sometime.
